"description": "**Transfer times**: Morning: 2.5-hour transfer from Launceston to the start of the trail, with a stop en route in the pretty seaside town of Bridport.\nAfternoon: 15-minute transfer from the end of the walk to accommodation.\n\n**Walk grade**: 14 km / 8.7 miles. Approximately 5–5.5 hours walking with breaks. Easy to medium grade. Moderate to good level of fitness required.\n\n**Terrain**: Mainly beach walking on firm, compact sand with gentle inclines. Expect some light rock-hopping when crossing granite headlands.\n\n**Itinerary**: Meet your guides in the hotel foyer at 8.00am for your transfer to the Bay of Fires. Our scenic drive winds through rich farmlands before reaching the northern end of Mount William National Park, with a toilet and coffee stop along the way in the seaside town of Bridport.\n\nWe begin our walking adventure in Mt William National Park, a region renowned for its deserted white-sand beaches, turquoise waters and striking orange-lichen granite boulders. After a welcome briefing and lunch at Stumpies Bay, we start our hike with a beautiful mix of pristine beaches and granite outcrops where traces of Aboriginal occupation can still be seen in the dunes.\n\nFrom here, the trail continues with short sections of rock-hopping and secluded coves before opening onto the long, sweeping shoreline of Cod Bay. This 4 km (2.5 mile) beach section is the perfect opportunity to stretch out, settle into a rhythm and take in uninterrupted coastal views towards Georges Rocks.\n\nA gentle wander through coastal heath brings us to our afternoon tea spot nestled among the famous fiery-red boulders—an iconic Bay of Fires scene. The final 6 km (3.7 miles) leads us through a series of small beaches and rocky headlands before we reach Purdon Bay, the second long beach stretch that carries us towards Deep Creek, our pick-up point for the day.\n\nAfter crossing the creek, our logistics guide will transfer the group a short 15 minutes to our waterfront accommodation. This evening, sit back, unwind and enjoy a delicious dinner prepared by your guides, served with Tasmanian Ninth Island wine as you take in the serene coastal views.\n\n**Accommodation**: Bay of Fires waterfront lodge (or similar)"

"description": "**Transfer times**: Morning: 15-minute transfer from our accommodation to the start of the trail.\nAfternoon: Walk directly into our accommodation.\n\n**Walk grade**: 16.5 km / 10.25 miles. Approximately 6.5 hours walking with breaks. Easy to medium grade. Moderate to good level of fitness required.\n\n**Terrain**: Mostly beach walking on firm, compact sand with sections of soft sand and gentle coastal tracks. Slight inclines when crossing granite headlands.\n\n**Itinerary**: After a hearty breakfast, we transfer 15 minutes back to Deep Creek to begin today’s spectacular coastal journey. Heading south, our first highlight is Picnic Rock, reached after the first couple of kilometres. This photogenic location, with its vivid lichen-covered boulders and turquoise water, is the perfect place to capture the Bay of Fires’ iconic colours.\n\nContinuing along the coast, we make our way to the historic Eddystone Point Lighthouse. Here, your guides will share stories of its impressive granite construction and the cultural and maritime history of the area. From the lighthouse, it’s a short stroll to the Eddystone Point rock pools—one of the most magical intertidal zones on the trail—where we pause for morning tea.\n\nWe then continue south along Abbotsbury Beach, the longest sand stretch of the day at 4 km / 2.5 miles. This is a beautiful opportunity to spread out, settle into the rhythm of beach walking and watch for migratory bird species along the shoreline. At the end of the beach, we break for a relaxing lunch with views of the sweeping coastline.\n\nAfter lunch, the journey continues through a stunning series of shell coves where the white sand and clear waters create a surreal mosaic of colours. This leads us to the remarkable Baileys Rock—an idyllic spot for those wanting to enjoy a refreshing swim in the crystal-clear water.\n\nWith around 5 km / 3.1 miles to go, we make our way over one final rocky headland before arriving at a dramatic shifting dune system that shelters Ansons Bay. This ecologically significant area is an important nesting refuge for shorebirds and offers some of the most unique landscapes of the day.\n\nCrossing the dunes, we skirt the shoreline of Ansons Bay before walking straight into our accommodation. Here, you’ll be welcomed with Tasmanian cheeses and refreshments in the garden while your guides prepare another gourmet dinner to enjoy together this evening.\n\n**Accommodation**: Bay of Fires waterfront lodge (or similar)"

This trail offers a beautiful contrast of landscapes, weaving through coastal sclerophyll forest and along sections of rugged shoreline. It’s a peaceful, rewarding walk to complete your journey on foot.\n\nWe then head inland to the lush Pyengana region for a relaxed lunch at the iconic Pub in the Paddock, one of North Tasmania’s most loved country pubs. Enjoy a hearty pub style meal showcasing local Tasmanian produce, with time to soak up the rural charm, friendly atmosphere and sweeping paddock views that make this venue so special. After lunch, we visit nearby St Columba Falls for a short rainforest walk to one of Tasmania’s highest and most impressive waterfalls. \n\nWe then return to Launceston (approx. 2.5 hrs), with drop-offs at the airport or local hotels. A perfect end to an extraordinary adventure.\n\n**Arrival time**: We will arrive back in Launceston at approximately 6:00 pm.\nIf flying out today, please book flights departing no earlier than 6:45 pm. For those choosing to stay the night, please contact your preferred Launceston hotel directly to arrange accommodation."
