The trail leads through wide open pastures, dotted with traditional wooden huts and framed by wildflowers in summer or powdery snow in winter. As we move deeper into the landscape, expansive views stretch across towering rock spires, jagged cliffs and the iconic silhouettes of the Sassolungo and Sella massifs.\n\nThe route meanders through verdant meadows and pockets of larch and pine forest before we arrive at Mont Seuc Restaurant, where we pause to enjoy refreshments with panoramic mountain views.\n\nTo complete the day, we board the cable car for an exhilarating descent into the picture-perfect Alpine village of Ortisei, a charming town known for its artistic heritage, colourful Tyrolean buildings and breathtaking mountain backdrop.\n\nOur accommodation for the next three nights is at The Alpenheim Hotel & Spa or similar, a warm and welcoming retreat nestled at the base of the Sassolungo massif. A good to excellent fitness level is recommended.\n\n**Flexible Walking**: For guests not wishing to complete the full loop, a shorter but equally scenic walk is available. This alternative route includes Rifugio Odle and covers 8 kilometers / 5 miles, with 360 meters / 1,181 feet of ascent and descent, taking around 3.5 hours.\n\n**Terrain**: Lower elevations feature forestry and farm tracks. Higher sections include alpine pasture trails, forest paths and rocky scree slopes. Expect uneven ground, moderate elevation gain and a few steep segments.\n\n**Itinerary**: Begin your day with a hearty breakfast at the hotel before setting out on one of the most spectacular experiences of the entire Dolomites adventure. This morning, we take to the skies on an exhilarating helicopter flight over the jagged limestone towers, sweeping valleys and shimmering alpine meadows of this UNESCO World Heritage region. From above, the sheer drama of the Dolomites becomes unmistakable, with soaring peaks and dramatic rock formations unfolding beneath you in every direction.\n\nAfter touching back down, we transition from air to trail, beginning a breathtaking loop walk along the Sentiero delle Odle, widely celebrated as one of the Dolomites’ most iconic routes. The path traces the base of the monumental Odle mountain group, where razor-sharp spires rise dramatically from lush conifer forests and rolling meadows. The trail offers countless picture-perfect moments, with sweeping vistas, peaceful woodland stretches and crystal-clear mountain air.\n\nA highlight of the day is the storybook St. Johann Church, an 18th-century chapel known for its distinctive onion-dome steeple and its extraordinary location beneath the Odle peaks. Its idyllic setting has made it one of the most photographed landmarks in the Dolomites.\n\nIn the afternoon, we return to Ortisei and The Alpenheim Hotel & Spa, where you’ll have time to relax, perhaps with a refreshing swim, spa visit or a quiet moment on the terrace, before gathering for a memorable dinner paired with regional South Tyrolean wines.\n\n**Accommodation**: The Alpenheim Hotel & Spa or similar, Ortisei"

This alternative covers 8 kilometers / 5 miles, with 300 meters / 984 feet of ascent and descent, taking around 3 hours. Guests may also choose to spend the day relaxing in Ortisei or enjoying the hotel’s facilities.\n\n**Terrain**: Forest and farm tracks at lower elevations, with higher sections crossing alpine pastures, woodland paths and rocky scree. Expect uneven surfaces, moderate climbs and some steeper sections.\n\n**Itinerary**: After a delicious breakfast, we begin one of the most iconic walks in the Dolomites: a full loop around the spectacular Sassopiatto–Sassolungo massif. This dramatic mountain group dominates the skyline with its towering limestone walls and jagged silhouettes, often compared to a natural Gothic cathedral rising from the landscape.\n\nAs we follow ancient shepherds’ routes, the trail leads us through lush meadows, peaceful forests and wide-open saddles with breathtaking views in every direction. Throughout the day, a series of traditional mountain huts offer the chance to pause, relax and take in the sweeping panoramas that stretch across the Dolomite Alps.\n\nA highlight of the route is the chance to see the distinctive formation known as the Cinque Dita, or “Five Fingers,” where the southwestern ridgeline resembles an outstretched hand carved into the mountain. Along the way, keep an eye out for the beautifully sculpted statue of the King, a unique artistic landmark that adds a touch of cultural intrigue to this remarkable alpine circuit.\n\nIn the late afternoon, we return to Ortisei and your welcoming accommodation. Enjoy a relaxing evening at the hotel before gathering for dinner, where regional South Tyrolean dishes are paired with excellent local wines.\n\n**Accommodation**: The Alpenheim Hotel & Spa or similar, Ortisei"

Guests may also opt out for a free day in Cortina or enjoy the facilities at the accommodation.\n\n**Terrain**: Alpine trails with rocky sections, scree slopes, boulder fields, forested paths and gravel tracks. Expect varied elevation and uneven footing in places.\n\n**Itinerary**: After breakfast, we set out for another unforgettable day in the Dolomites, hiking to one of the region’s most admired natural wonders: Lake Sorapis (Lago di Sorapis). This spectacular glacial lake is world-renowned for its surreal turquoise color, created by finely ground glacial minerals suspended in the water and framed by towering limestone cliffs.\n\nThe trail to the lake offers a wonderfully varied walking experience as it winds through dense forests, high mountain meadows and rocky alpine terrain. As the path climbs, sweeping views of the surrounding Dolomite peaks unfold, creating a dramatic backdrop that grows more impressive with each step.\n\nUpon reaching Lake Sorapis, you’ll be greeted by its luminous blue-green waters, a scene so striking it feels almost otherworldly. Though the lake is relatively small, its tranquil setting, encircled by rugged spires and dramatic rock walls, makes it one of the most breathtaking and photogenic spots in the Dolomites.\n\nAfter time to explore, take photos or simply sit and enjoy the serenity of this high-alpine treasure, we begin our return walk along the same scenic trail. The rest of the afternoon is yours to relax or explore at your own pace before joining the group for a memorable farewell dinner paired with regional Italian wines, celebrating the end of an extraordinary Dolomites adventure.\n\n**Accommodation**: Hotel Cortina"

Expect consistent elevation changes, uneven footing in places and occasional steeper stretches.\n\n**Itinerary**: After a hearty breakfast, we begin today’s journey into the heart of the Fanes-Sennes-Braies Nature Park, walking toward the idyllic alpine pasture of Malga Ra Stua. This region is famed for its pristine landscapes, dramatic limestone peaks and rich cultural history, offering one of the most peaceful and evocative walks in the Dolomites.\n\nThe trail ascends gradually through aromatic pine forests before opening onto broad alpine meadows, where sweeping views of rugged Dolomitic spires dominate the skyline. As we climb higher onto the Sennes Plateau, the landscape becomes increasingly panoramic, revealing vast open spaces framed by dramatic rock walls and serene high-mountain pastures.\n\nAt the top, we pause at the welcoming Malga Ra Stua, a rustic alpine hut celebrated for its traditional Tyrolean dishes made from regional produce. Enjoy time to relax over a hearty lunch or refreshing drink while taking in the expansive views that surround this high-altitude haven.\n\nAfter soaking up the scenery, we begin our descent along the same beautiful route, returning to the valley for a relaxing afternoon and evening in Cortina.\n\n**Accommodation**: Hotel Cortina "

Expect steady elevation changes and exposed high-mountain conditions.\n\n**Itinerary**: Begin your morning with a delicious breakfast at the hotel before setting out on one of the most celebrated walks in the Dolomites, the Tre Cime di Lavaredo Loop. Rising like monumental stone towers from the surrounding landscape, the Tre Cime are among the most iconic and photographed peaks in the Alps. Their three colossal limestone pillars dominate the skyline, often compared to ancient monoliths or an immense natural colossus.\n\nThe trail leads you through classic high-alpine scenery, with panoramic views unfolding at every turn. You’ll pass serene alpine lakes, rolling meadows and a series of quaint mountain chapels, each framed by dramatic Dolomitic spires. This is a walk where every viewpoint feels like a postcard, offering countless opportunities for breathtaking photographs.\n\nAfter completing the walk, enjoy some free time in Cortina d’Ampezzo, one of the most charming alpine towns in Italy. You may like to explore its elegant pedestrian streets, browse boutiques featuring Tyrolean craftsmanship or visit the Paleontological Museum for a fascinating glimpse into the region’s prehistoric history.\n\nIn the evening, gather at the hotel for a wonderful dinner paired with regional Italian wines. Total ascent and descent 400 meters / 1,312 feet.\n\n**Flexible Walking**: For guests preferring a shorter option, you may ride the chairlift to Rifugio Scoiattoli near Cinque Torri and enjoy a 4-kilometer / 2.5-mile loop. This shorter walk includes an ascent of 50 meters / 164 feet and a descent of 400 meters / 1,312 feet, taking around 2 hours. This route includes time to explore the fascinating open-air Great War Museum. Guests may also opt out entirely and enjoy a relaxing final morning in Cortina or at the hotel.\n\n**Terrain**: Rocky mountain trails, scree slopes, gravel paths and uneven surfaces with moderate elevation changes.\n\n**Itinerary**: After breakfast, we check out of the hotel and begin our final walking day in the Dolomites. A scenic chairlift carries us high into the mountains, where today’s loop walk unfolds around the dramatic Cinque Torri, or “Five Towers.” Despite their name, the formation includes a total of 11 limestone spires, each sculpted by centuries of alpine weather into striking shapes that dominate the landscape.\n\nThis area is not only visually spectacular but also rich in history. During World War I, the Cinque Torri served as a strategic front line between Italian and Austro-Hungarian forces. Hidden among the rocky towers, soldiers built bunkers, communication posts and defensive trenches. Many of these wartime structures have been carefully restored, creating a remarkable open-air museum that brings the region’s past vividly to life. As you walk, interpretive displays and preserved trenches offer a powerful glimpse into life on the high-alpine front more than a century ago.\n\nThe trail itself offers beautiful Dolomitic scenery, with sweeping views over the peaks of Nuvolau, Averau and Lagazuoi. After completing the loop, we descend via chairlift and begin our transfer to Venice.\n\nWe conclude the tour with drop-offs at Venice Marco Polo Airport or the Venice Ferry Terminal, marking the end of an unforgettable journey through the heart of the Dolomites."
