Upon arrival in Puerto Natales, a private transfer will greet you at the airport and take you to your hotel to settle in and enjoy some free time before the adventure begins.\n\n**Itinerary:** This afternoon we begin our journey with a memorable introduction to Patagonian culture. A short drive brings us to Estancia Galope Austral, a traditional working ranch set against the dramatic landscapes of the Laguna Sofía valley. Here, a local gaucho welcomes us with genuine warmth, sharing stories of life on the estancia, the heritage of horse culture and the strong community ties that define rural Patagonia. We enjoy a traditional mate tea alongside homemade tortas fritas, learning about the rhythms, history and spirit of this unique region. As the day winds down, we return to Puerto Natales for a Welcome Dinner at Lengas, a restaurant known for its modern Chilean cuisine and relaxed atmosphere. It’s the perfect opportunity to meet your fellow travellers, connect with your guides and raise a toast to the unforgettable week ahead exploring Torres del Paine National Park.\n\n**Accommodation:** Hotel Simple Patagonia, Puerto Natales"

"description": "**PACK-FREE DAY**\n\n**Walk grade and terrain:** Today’s walk covers approximately 13 kilometres / 8 miles, with around five hours on the trail. This moderate walk includes 300 metres of elevation gain and features gently undulating terrain with a mix of open Patagonian steppe, native lenga forest and exposed ridgelines offering sweeping views.\n\n**Itinerary:** After breakfast we travel into the Patagonian countryside to Estancia Lazo, a 13,000-hectare working ranch overlooking the emerald waters of Laguna Verde. With more than a century of history and spectacular views of the Paine Massif, it is the perfect starting point for our pack-free walk. We begin our hike along peaceful, gently rolling trails that wind through native lenga and coihue forests alive with wildlife. Look skyward for condors and caranchos, keep watch for grazing guanacos and listen for Magallanic woodpeckers tapping through the trees. You may also spot owls and the bright green cachaña parrot as we move deeper into the park. The trail leads past the reflective waters of Laguna Honda before arriving at the dramatic Toro Lake lookout, one of the most stunning viewpoints in Torres del Paine. From here, absorb a vast panorama of the Grey, Serrano and Paine Rivers weaving through broad valleys beneath towering peaks. In the distance, Mount Balmaceda rises above the landscape and the ancient Geike and Tyndall Glaciers shimmer under the Patagonian sun. A gentle descent brings us to Weber Bridge where our private transfer awaits. We continue to the small village of Serrano and settle into the comfortable and beautifully located Kau Rio Serrano Lodge. Tonight, enjoy a delicious dinner paired with Chilean wine and sweeping views of the Paine Massif, the perfect end to an unforgettable day.\n\n**Accommodation:** Kau Rio Serrano Lodge"

Elevation gain is around 200 metres. The approach to the glacier is rocky and uneven, with a short moderate ascent. On-glacier terrain includes ice ridges, crevasses and meltwater channels. All crampons and safety equipment are provided. Flexible walking option: Guests who prefer not to join the ice hike can take a guided walk to the Hanging Bridges, an 8-kilometre, 3-hour return trail offering spectacular views over Grey Lake and its floating ice fields.\n\n**Itinerary:** After a relaxed breakfast, we board the Grey Navigation Cruise for a spectacular journey across the milky-blue waters of Grey Lake. As we glide between towering icebergs tinted in electric shades of turquoise and sapphire, the dramatic peaks of Torres del Paine and the vast Southern Patagonian Ice Field rise all around us. It is one of the most breathtaking boat crossings in the park, so keep your camera close. After 1.5 hours on the water, we disembark and prepare for one of Patagonia’s most extraordinary experiences: stepping onto Grey Glacier itself. Following a full safety briefing, expert mountain guides fit us with crampons, harnesses and helmets before leading us onto the ancient ice. The moment you take your first step onto the glacier feels surreal. Beneath your feet is a shifting, shimmering world of crevasses, meltwater streams, frozen caves and jagged blue ice formations that seem sculpted by another planet. As light moves across the glacier, the colours and textures constantly change, creating an unforgettable landscape of ice and silence broken only by the distant rumble of moving ice. After this once-in-a-lifetime experience, we return to Refugio Grey to relax for the evening. Settle into your shared accommodation, enjoy a warm, hearty dinner paired with Chilean wine and relive the day’s exhilarating moments surrounded by the raw beauty of Torres del Paine.\n\n**Accommodation:** Refugio Grey"

Must be pre-booked.\n\n**Walk grade and terrain:** Today’s walk covers approximately 11 kilometres/6.8 miles, over about four hours with around 300metres of elevation gain. The trail follows a well-marked dirt and gravel path with occasional rocky sections. Guests will need to carry an overnight bag, and during the afternoon walk a small pack with clothing and essentials.\n\n**Itinerary:** After breakfast, we take a short walk to Grey Base Camp for a full safety briefing on paddling techniques, weather, and equipment. Once prepared, we launch onto Grey Lake and begin kayaking toward the dramatic eastern wall of Grey Glacier. As we paddle across milky-blue waters, the glacier rises before us in towering blocks of ancient ice, glowing in shades of turquoise and steel blue. We continue toward a meltwater waterfall fed by a neighbouring glacier, then enter a sheltered bay where freshly calved icebergs often drift and settle, an ever-changing, awe-inspiring sight that defines the magic of Patagonia. After approximately two and a half hours on the water, we return to Refugio Grey to prepare for the afternoon hike. Our trail to Paine Grande offers sweeping views of Paine Grande and the sheer granite walls of the Olguín Cordillera. Along the way, we pass through the stark but beautiful burn zone from the 2010–2011 fire, where new vegetation is slowly reclaiming the landscape. With panoramic viewpoints and photo stops throughout, this scenic walk leads us to Refugio Paine Grande, our base for the night. Please note that due to the remoteness of this area, accommodation is simple, but the reward is unparalleled access to the heart of Torres del Paine without long transfers. This evening, enjoy a hearty dinner and Chilean wine while taking in the spectacular mountain views.\n\nAll technical kayaking equipment is provided, including wetsuit, waterproof jacket, boots, spray skirt, life jacket and gloves.\n\n**Accommodation:** Refugio Paine Grande"

The trail includes long undulating sections, steep climbs, uneven rocky ground, glacial moraines and exposed viewpoints. This is a pack-free day, allowing you to enjoy the French Valley with only a light daypack.\n\n**Itinerary:** Today we venture deep into the heart of the Paine Massif for one of the most iconic hikes in all of Patagonia, the French Valley. This immense natural amphitheatre is framed by hanging glaciers, sheer granite peaks and dramatic rock towers that create some of the most unforgettable scenery in Torres del Paine. We begin along rolling trails and rocky moraines until reaching the entrance of the valley, where the first hanging glaciers appear high above the cliffs. From here, we climb steadily for about an hour through a landscape of twisted lenga trees and alpine vegetation that feels almost like a wild Japanese garden. Arriving at the French Valley viewpoint, the Plateau, we are surrounded by a breathtaking panorama: the creaking ice of the French Glacier, the massive face of Paine Grande, the sharp blades of La Espada, La Hoja and La Máscara, the famous “horns” of Los Cuernos and the towering spires of Cerro Catedral and Cerro Fortaleza rising like ancient stone cathedrals. We pause here for lunch, completely immersed in this spectacular setting, before retracing our steps along the same trail. The day concludes with a scenic 35-minute catamaran cruise across the turquoise waters of Lake Pehoé, followed by a private transfer back to our lodge in Serrano. After a full day on the trail, enjoy a hearty dinner and a well-earned rest.\n\n**Accommodation:** Kau Rio Serrano Lodge"

The trail includes dirt paths, rocky sections, steep moraine climbs and forested valley floors. This is a pack-free day, allowing you to hike with only a light daypack. Total driving time today is around two hours.\n\n**Itinerary:** Today we take on one of the most iconic hikes in all of Patagonia, the legendary walk to the Base of the Towers. After an early breakfast, we transfer from Serrano to the Las Torres trailhead and begin our ascent alongside the Ascencio River. The trail leads us through the striking Ascencio Valley, a dramatic landscape of beech forests, cascading waterfalls and distant hanging glaciers. We pause at scenic viewpoints to take in the sweeping beauty of this rugged wilderness. The most challenging part of the day comes as we climb the steep terminal moraine, gaining height quickly as the granite walls rise around us. Reaching the top at roughly 900 metres above sea level, we are rewarded with one of the most breathtaking scenes in South America. Before us stand the three towering granite spires of Torres del Paine, reflected in the emerald waters of the glacial lake below, a view that defines the spirit of Patagonia. We take time here to enjoy a well-earned lunch, capture photos and appreciate this once-in-a-lifetime moment. Our return follows the same path, descending back through the valley to the Las Torres trailhead, where our private transfer awaits. Back in Serrano, enjoy a hearty dinner and celebrate completing an extraordinary week of unforgettable walks through Patagonia’s wild landscapes.\n\n**Accommodation:** Kau Rio Serrano Lodge"

Inside Torres del Paine National Park, you’ll enjoy three nights at Kau Río Serrano Lodge, a warm and intimate retreat on the banks of the Serrano River with private ensuite rooms, mountain views and hearty regional cuisine.\n\nOn the more remote sections of the W-Trek, where no vehicles or hotels exist, we stay inside the park at two iconic refugios:\nRefugio Grey and Refugio Paine Grande, each offering simple, friendly, dorm-style accommodation with bunk beds, warm bedding and shared bathrooms. These are the only places to stay in these wilderness areas and provide unbeatable access to Grey Glacier, French Valley and Lake Pehoé. Communal lounges, dining halls and bars make them a fun and social part of the Patagonia experience.\n\nDue to limited facilities in the refugios, single supplements are not available.
